Description of Significance THE SANTA FE DEPOT IN DAVIS IS THE ONLY PROPERTY IN THE COMMUNITY THAT IS REPRESENTATIVE OF THE IMPACT THAT THE RAILROAD HAD ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF SETTLEMENT, ECONOMICS, COMMERCE, AND TRANSPORTATION IN THE AREA. IT IS THE ONLY EXTANT DEPOT IN MURRAY COUNTY THAT RETAINS ITS INTEGRITY. THE DAVIS DEPOT IS A STANDARD, VERNACULAR, COMBINATION DEPOT WITH ITALIANATE FEATURES. BUILT IN 1908, THE DEPOT MEASURES 24 FEET BY 145 FEET AND IS A FAIRLY LARGE STATION DESIGNED TO SERVE FREIGHT AND PASSENGER DEMANDS. IT IS A SINGLE-STORY BUILDING CLAD IN WEATHERBOARD WITH A GABLED SLATE ROOF. ONLY MINOR ALTERATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE ORIGINAL BUILDING. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 12/29/1994.
